Thunder take out Spurs...on to the Finals!!!
After being down 2 games to none, the Oklahoma City Thunder come back to eliminate the San Antonio Spurs in Game 6!!
Turning to the sports world a little bit, last night the Oklahoma City Thunder won game 6 in stunning fashion, thereby solidifying their spot in the 2011-2012 NBA Finals!! Overcoming an 18 point deficit in the second half the Thunder could not be stopped. With Harden's 16 points, Westbrook's 25, and the all-star Kevin Durant's 34 incredible points, the Thunder stunned the seemingly undefeated Spurs and take the stage as the Western Conference Champs.Chris Broussard from ESPN the Magazine says, If the Oklahoma City Thunder win the championship this season, they will become the first team ever to win a title with its top four scorers all under the age of 24. And they are doing it the old-fashioned way: They bucked the latest trend that has players conspiring to team up together in posh cities, as if having a 40-inch vertical or a wicked jump shot automatically makes one a deft general manager. The Thunder just show up to games and spread their talents in a way that possibly no team can overcome.
The Spurs put up quite a fight, (for the first half) Tony Parker was back at his
best right from the start. He made 7 of his first 9 shots, while also setting up his
teammates. Depth was supposed to be San Antonio’s strength, but nine Oklahoma City
players scored in the half. The Thunder’s bench outscored the Spurs by 25-13. The
Spurs were 9 for 15 on 3-pointers in the first half, many of them wide
open, and maintained their lead right up until Durant's 3-pointer with
0.4 seconds left got Oklahoma City within 63-48 at halftime. Therefore turning momentum towards the home crowd and mostly foreshadowing the games end at that point.
